We love our little pup and we spoil her to pieces! But, if your dog is anything like ours, she absolutely loves her bed, and wears every one of them out pretty quickly. So, instead of spending money over and over again on one, why not just make one out of items that you can find just laying around the house?

What You Will Need:
To begin, lay the sweatshirt out on a flat surface. Take the needle and thread and carefully sew the head area closed . If you are using a thicker sweatshirt, consider using yarn for a stronger hold.
This next step may be a bit tricky, because this will determine the area your pet will lay on versus the back rest. You must sew a curved line 3/4 of the way to the top of the sweater, reaching from one side of the chest area to the other.
Now you are going to need to sew the inner arms to it’s partnered outer body. Be patient, as you need to make sure both sides are aligned at all times. You will need to sew about 3/4 of the way down, (Don’t worry, the cuffs will be connected later!)
Time to start stuffing! Grab your stuffing material (We used our puppy’s old bed stuffing) and place as much as you want into the arm areas and around to the head area. Make sure that it is stuffed evenly the whole way around.
Grab that pillow of yours and stuff it into the main body area. We had to remove some of the stuffing as it was too much, but it’s all about preference, really!
Back to sewing! Sew the bottom area of the sweatshirt so the pillow can’t escape! Be sure to make the stitching extra secure if you use a larger pillow.
Next, you must grab both arms and hold both cuffs together so that they are overlapping one another. Sew the cuffs together as such. It’s okay if the stitching isn’t as good here since it will be covered soon!
You’re almost there! Last, but not least, take your patch of cloth and wrap it around the arm cuffs. Sew both sides of the cloth together, then continue sewing down the left and right ends to secure to the sweatshirt.
You finally did it! This pet bed is amazing. It really looks like one that you bought from the store and our puppy just adores it. This is just the beginning to many things that you can make for your beloved animals.
